Linguafest is an anual weekend for language teachers to brush up on their language skills, socialize with old and new friends, learn more about the language and culture you teach.
The German language group enjoyed Jo Sanders (incoming AATG President) present throughout the day and provide teachers with lots of comprehensible input. We shared food, had valuable mini-workshops, and played games in the target language.
Linguafest was held at at the rustic "Mountain Get-Away Cabins," 2918 Soda Creek Road, Idaho Springs, Colorado 80452. (http://www.mtgetawaycabins.com - This place also operates under the name Clear Creek Dude Ranch!)

Concerns were brought up about how the scores are reported and the need for a more proficiency based report to be used in local schools to show how students are meeting standards.
Ideas are needed to promote membership in the local chapter. Only 33% of national members are associated with the Colo./Wyo. chapter.
Deloris DeLapp announced her retirement at the end of this school year. She would like to know of anyone who would be interested in the position at Hinkley High School. The person who replaces her will probably have to teach French or Spanish, as well as German. She can be contacted at 303-337-8714.
The members were then treated to an all day workshop presented by Jo Sanders from Alaska. Her ideas were well received.
Sincerely Submitted,
Deloris DeLapp
