Annual Foreign Language Awareness Visual Art Contest
To celebrate 2008
as the International Year of Languages proclaimed
by the United Nations on May 16, 2007, CCFLT is seeking
student artwork for our 3rd Annual Foreign Language Awareness
Visual Art Contest.
Each entry must be the work of an individual student. No
group entries will be accepted. Entries must be comprised
of 2-dimensional artwork; however, an original photo of
a 3-dimensional project would be appropriate. The visual
may not contain wording or letters of any sort. This year’s

Multilingualism
Promotes Unity in Diversity and International Understanding
Entries may be submitted in a variety of media, but must
not be larger than 18” x 24”. Examples of possible
media include a drawing (pencil, colored pencil, pen and
ink, charcoal, pastels, etc.), a painting, photos, a collage,
digital media, or a combination of these. Be creative!
Entries will
be judged in four age categories:
• pre-K - grade 5,
• grades 6 - 8,
• grades 9 - 12
• university level
All entries will be judged according to the rubric located
at www.ccflt.org/contests/rubric.htm.
Entries must be postmarked by Tuesday, November
27, 2007 and sent to:

Winning entries
become the property of CCFLT. Prizes will be awarded to
the winner
of
each category during the Spring Conference Awards Luncheon
on Thursday,
February 14. A poster suitable for classroom display will
be produced from one of the winning entries and distributed
to attendees of the 2008 CCFLT Spring Conference.
