"This interactive workshop focuses on a variety of hands-on activities that help to build language proficiency and generate student enthusiasm. Participants will be provided with a variety of strategies and activities at different levels to help all students learn while building language proficiency. Participants will take part in pair and small group activities that incorporate games, flashcards, new ways to incorporate grammar, comprehensible language input activities and graphic organizers. Participants will discuss how and why hands-on activities meet the needs of students through a kinesthetic approach."
Rich Sayers (rich.sayers@phschool.com) has been an educator in World Languages for 25 years. He taught Spanish, levels 1 through AP, at Niwot High School in Longmont, Colorado, for 18 years. He has served as department chair, district foreign language coordinator, board member of CCFLT, and is currently a board member of SWCOLT. He is the Senior National Consultant for Prentice Hall and one of the co-authors of the Paso a Paso and Realidades Spanish textbook series. He was selected as one of the Disney Company's Foreign Language Teacher Honorees for the American Teacher Awards.
