SESSION INFORMATION
Creative Use of Social Media in World Language Teaching and Learning
Presenter: Dr. Le Kang
Friday 9:45 - 10:45 a.m.
Conference Room II

Social media has been playing an increasingly important role in education. It promotes self-directed learning that prepares students to search for answers and make decisions independently. When reinforced in a classroom setting, these social media skills can be guided and refined to produce better learning outcomes and critical awareness. Social media also allows students more freedom to connect and collaborate beyond the physical classroom, which further promotes cross-cultural interactions. This session aims to introduce and explore collaboratively with the audience ways to use social media creatively in world language classrooms to promote more effective language teaching and learning.
