Let students be in charge of their learning. Allow them to talk, read, listen and write about topics they are interested in and that are relevant to them as individuals. Discover methods and lessons that can be used in a variety of ways to promote self-directed learning, including modeling for students using your own interests. Use proficiency levels to set expectations and monitor progress, and learn strategies for assessing students in a manageable and timely way.
