This lively session will examine various recent German musical pieces with a concentration on those performed by musicians of mixed backgrounds. The session will include a range of music pieces and lots of ideas about how to incorporate the songs into classes, ways to work with the songs to enhance language and cultural understanding, and methods to help students to discover music that appeals to them and their interests. Attendees will be strongly encouraged to participate fully and there will be time for discussion, as well as the creation of a source page for songs suggested by attendees.
