Second language acquisition research tells us that acquisition occurs when learners have Comprehensible Input (CI) and the opportunity for meaningful communication. CI can be used in a variety of age-appropriate activities such as song, verse, role-play, story-telling, and art. These activities present numerous opportunities for young learners to have meaningful communication. This presentation will discuss and demonstrate how to use CI within these activities to create an immersion environment for elementary Spanish.
